A lot of people might know that green tea is highly beneficial for health, but what many of them don’t know is that it is also a good drink to sip on when you are stressed out. Fresh juice provides an easy way to effectively cope with pressure and stress as it fills our body with the vitamins and minerals it needs. Researches have shown that high intake of vitamin C can reduce mental and physical stress reactions. Well, you may already know that eating green leafy vegetables and salmon helps beat the stress, but the fact is that you may not be interested or do not have time to cook a full-grown meal. Here I show you some simple, tasty and ingenious foods that you can enjoy to reduce stress.
Chocolate, everyone’s favorite right? Do you know that dark chocolate is an all-time recommended and a great stress reliever? I always get a nice mood boost whenever I sink my teeth into a bar of dark chocolate. The feeling you get from eating chocolate is unique. I never put a deeper thought into it, but while I was researching for this article I came across a lot of facts regarding dark chocolate.
Dark chocolate stabilizes our metabolism by regulating levels of the stress hormone cortisol. Dark chocolate also contains antioxidants which help to relieve blood pressure and causes our body to release endorphins (the feel-good hormone in the brain), and also gives a feeling similar to being in love.
It is an easy fix, just go to the store and pick up your favorite dark chocolate and see the stress roll off.
Munch on something crunchy
By crunchy I mean nuts here, so don’t munch on that packet of chips as that will do more harm than good. Some trail mix or a bag of celery sticks will also work just as well in relieving stress. But, personally, I prefer nuts(specifically pistachios and cashews).
Cashews contain 11% of the daily recommended value of zinc, which reduces your stress and anxiety levels. They are also a rich source of omega-3s and protein, which can also help heart health along with relieving stress.
Pistachios contain certain antioxidants which help in reducing stress by lowering the heart rate and blood pressure. Eating Pistachios is also a good way to beat stress.
Chewing gum for just a few minutes can improve mood and reduce cortisol levels. Some studies also suggest that chewing gum can increase alertness and flow of blood to the brain. Many people are unaware that they may be chewing their stress away every time they put a stick of gum in their mouth. Minty or fruity, a stick of gum is an amazingly quick and easy way to beat stress.
